2008 SBAM Annual Meeting
Small is the New Big!
Celebrate entrepreneurship at SBAM's 2008 Annual Meeting. SBAM Seal of Approval We know how hard running a small business can be. Typically, you start your business to do something you love, but as your business grows the administrative tasks of running a business can become overwhelming. SBAM is here to help.
SBAM Legal Update - November 2007 The October 1 budget and tax deal between the Governor and the Legislature included a significant, and highly selective, new tax on services. Although the tax was initially represented to be a tax on so-called high-level, discretionary, and luxury services, most of the taxable services are typical B2B services. Further, as a practical matter, businesses are the only taxpayers who will have records that can be audited for compliance. In other words, it’s primarily another tax increase on businesses.
The new tax is effective beginning December 1. SBAM has been leading the effort to repeal the new tax. Other business groups have other ideas, such as replacing it with a surcharge on the new Michigan business tax. View All Articles News
