SBAM supports legislation to establish a cyber or Internet court in Michigan.
(LAC 3/15/01) (BOARD APPROVED 6/28/01)

PRODUCT LIABILITY REFORM

SBAM believes that any product liability reform should assign responsibilities based on degree of fault; limit manufacturers liability to a reasonable period of time for products after they are released in the market; cap non-economic damage awards and allow as defenses “state of the art” design and compliance with governmental standards at the time of manufacture.  (SBAM Action Agenda – 2/88) (Issues 91/92)
(LAC ANALYSIS – Product Liability)

SMALL CLAIMS COURT THRESHOLD

SBAM supports the concept of increasing the expediency and cost effectiveness of the state’s judicial system for small business to recover debts outstanding by raising the qualification threshold for small claims court. (LAC 3/28/11)
(BOARD APPROVED (6/23/11)

SUBSTANCE ABUSE TESTING

SBAM believes that employers should not be prohibited from instituting drug-testing procedures.  (SBAM Action Agenda 2/88) (ISSUES 91/92)
