Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC) is a multi-billion dollar public/private initiative developed by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) in 2011 that introduces Michigan companies to opportunities that help them grow and expand. 

PMBC’s mission is to help Michigan businesses grow by:

  • Connecting local, national and global purchasers to Michigan suppliers by offering customized procurement or joint venture matchmaking searches, summits and buyer tours.
  • Partnering with local and national purchasers to organize dedicated buyer-supplier matchmaking events.
  • Delivering full concierge services to businesses to help find the right connections.
  • Offering dedicated international trade services for Michigan businesses who want to start or expand export activities.

Instructions on Creating an Account:

  1. Go to pmbc.connect.space and click “Sign Up Now”.
     
  2. Complete the registration steps to create your personal and company profiles. Please note that if anyone from your company has created an account before you, your company may already be created. In that case you’ll simply select it from the options that show up when you begin typing your company’s name.
     
  3. Don’t forget to download the mobile PMBC app from the iOS App Store and Google Play stores by searching for “PMBC”, allowing you to access your account from your phone and interact with other businesses during events!

The PMBC B2B website is an initiative that links Michigan companies with private sector procurement opportunities and business services available from other Michigan companies.  Michigan businesses may learn more about the B2B site and register at no cost.  SBAM members have the ability to identify and connect with each other through commerce.

The following are a few of the benefits to joining and utilizing the Pure Michigan B2B website:

  • Track and respond to Request for Proposals and other buyer requests from both Michigan and out-of-state businesses;
  • Update your company profile with appropriate industry and key word information so that buyers and potential collaborators can find you;
  • Review special businesses offers from other Michigan businesses;
  • Request free or significantly reduced business services from Pure Michigan Business Connect strategic partners;
  • Track and apply to attend invite only procurement events with companies such as Ford, Chrysler, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Consumers Energy, General Dynamics, etc.;
  • Search for collaborators or potential suppliers; and
  • Post your own company’s procurement needs.

Instructions on Creating an Account:

  1. Go to the Pure Michigan B2B website and select “Connect with PMBC today"
  2. Fill in your email, company name and related information to request membership; please note your company may already exist in the system and will auto select pending the spelling.  Please use the  “Find” feature to search for any specific company or name; NOTE: Many SBAM members have been pre-populated on the site for your convenience.  When you enter in a matching email address, a notice will appear that instructs you how to login/retrieve a password.
  3. Once you have requested membership, the MEDC will review your application and respond back within twenty four business hours;
  4. Once approved, you will receive an email with password information to log-in; and
  5. Follow instructions on the B2B system on filling in your company profile and leveraging the system capabilities.

Instructions on Editing a Company Profile:

  1. Once signed in and at the logged in “Home” page, click on the “My Account” tab along the top;
  2. From the “My Account” screen, click on the “Organization Profile” tab along the left;
  3. Click on the “Edit” button corresponding to the area of the profile that needs to be changed or added to; please note that the “Certification Categories, & Keywords” section is the most important to being found by another user in the system looking for your product or service.

Instructions on Requesting Pro-Bono Services:

  • If logged in, click on the blue “Request for Services” button along the right of the page and fill out the missing information on the opened form.
  • If new to the site, click on the green “Request for Services” button on the top of the B2B Home page and fill out the full opened form.  If you haven’t already registered, this will also serve as your registration process.

Instructions on Applying to a Connection Point Summit:

  • From the B2B Home page, click on the green button corresponding to the summit you are interested in applying for (i.e. Chrysler Supplier Summit) and fill out the full opened form.  If you haven’t already registered, this will also serve as your registration process.
