SBAM Bolsters Board of Directors with Addition of Four Small Business Owners

Entrepreneurs from Houghton, Lansing, Grand Rapids and Royal Oak join small business leadership team

LANSING, MI – The Small Business Association of Michigan has named four additional small business owners to lead the organization as part of its Board of Directors, effective July 1.

“I’m encouraged by the strength and experience of SBAM’s new Board of Directors,” said SBAM President and CEO Brian Calley. “As Michigan’s small business owners face a rapidly changing landscape, this group of dedicated leaders will provide thoughtful, strategic direction as we continue to advocate for a stronger entrepreneurial environment and deliver real solutions to help all small businesses thrive.”

New Board Members include:
  • Adrian Hemond, Owner, Grassroots Midwest, Lansing | Strategic consulting
  • Blaine Tillander, Owner, Granite Networks, Royal Oak | IT solutions and business computer services
  • Karyn Olsson, Marketing Department, Houghton | Marketing and Performance Systems
  • Jon Tellier, JetCo Federal, Grand Rapids | Supply chain management, logistics, and packaging

Sheri Welsh, owner of Welsh & Associates, was named Board Chair. Welsh & Associates is a certified Women’s Business Enterprise located in Kalamazoo that specializes in professional staffing, talent and recruiting, and has been in business for 23 years.

The Small Business Association of Michigan focuses solely on serving the needs of Michigan’s small business community through advocacy, collaboration and buying power. Today they serve over 32,000 members in all 83 counties of Michigan. SBAM is located in Lansing, just one block from the Capitol.
