Directives and guidance on serving students during the pandemic

August 10, 2020

Join us for the first of a series of live virtual events to help businesses in Michigan college towns understand directives and guidance on COVID-19. Serving students during the pandemic is a unique challenge. As students are returning to campuses, LEO will help at risk businesses like bars, restaurants, gyms, and certain retailers in these areas understand what they can do to reopen, stay open and keep the community safe. Sean Egan, Michigan COVID-19 Workplace Safety Director, will answer questions on guidelines for operations, compliance and safety requirements for employees and customers.

The Michigan Dept. of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) is hosting a series of webinars over the next couple weeks to help businesses in Michigan college towns understand the rules and regulations surrounding COVID-19.

With students returning to campuses, local businesses like bars, restaurants and others must adopt health-and-safety behaviors to prevent possible spikes and keep the economy moving. If we continue to see cases increase, we risk another shut down.

Serving students during the pandemic is particularly challenging, especially for bars, retailers and gyms. The webinars will help those businesses understand what they can do to stay open or reopen when it is safe. Many businesses have questions about policies and directives regarding COVID-19 and LEO will help provide clarity. Businesses will have the opportunity to ask questions on operations and compliance directly to Sean Egan, Michigan COVID-19 Workplace Safety Director.
