Economic Development & Tax
Michigan’s overall economic competitiveness is largely driven by our state’s tax and economic development structure for businesses. Members of this subcommittee will focus on issues of tax policy, incentive programs, and economic development initiatives that impact small businesses.

Government & Regulation
Small businesses are subject to a bevy of requirements that dictate the rules and conditions on the employer, employee relationship. Members of this subcommittee will analyze the legislation and regulations that would influence how employers interact with their employees.

Healthcare
A decades-long trend of rising costs healthcare costs have forced small businesses to make difficult budgetary decisions to continue supporting benefits. This subcommittee will evaluate legislation and policy that affects healthcare costs for small businesses.

Education & Workforce
Workforce and skilled labor shortages are amongst the most severe dilemmas our state’s economy faces, and current trends indicate they will only get worse in the coming years unless lawmakers take action. This subcommittee will evaluate the various policy proposals designed to address these issues through the K-12 system and into the workforce.

Energy & Infrastructure
Michigan’s small businesses require reliable, affordable energy and dependable infrastructure to sustain their everyday operations. This subcommittee will focus on the policy decisions that affect our energy grid, our interstates, and everything in between.
