Michigan’s MiUI System is Officially Live: How to Sign in

Michigan’s Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) is in process of fully transferring their online services to a new system, called MiUI. This new system will replace the current system, MiWAM, over the span of this year. The UIA launched employer-focused functions on February 23rd, and they are now live. The claimant benefits will transition to MiUI this summer.  

Employer functions previously done in MiWAM are now available in MiUI, including submitting quarterly wage reports, uploading wage files, and registering as a new business.  

The UIA has provided guidance on how employers can initiate their new MiUI Accounts in their latest MiUI Minute Newsletter.

1. Employers and TPAs should log into their MiWAM account to locate their 8-digit MiUI Activation Code. This code is located on the MiUI Activation Code tab. This will be used to access your MiUI account. For more details on accessing your Activation Code, refer to last week’s MiUI Minute on the topic.  
2. Navigate to the UIA homepage to access MiUI (see screenshot below). Be sure to bookmark the link applicable to you or click these links – MiUI for Employers or MiUI for TPAs.  

3. Log in or create your MiLogin for Business account. 
4. Initiate your MiUI account using your MiUI Activation code and providing the necessary credentials: 

             Employers will need:   

• • Employer Account Number (EAN). 
  • Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN).
  • MiUI Activation Code found in their MiWAM accounts. Note: this must be typed in when initiating the account. 

              TPAs will need:   

• • FEIN or Social Security Number (SSN). 
  • MiUI Activation Code found in MiWAM. Note: this must be typed in when initiating the account.
