SBAM launches Small Business Energy Services Program

April 26, 2017

The Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) is partnering with Consumers Energy and DTE Energy to provide enhanced energy services to small businesses across Michigan through a new “SBAM Energy Solutions” program.

“Thanks to this new partnership, SBAM will be able to deliver small business owners red-carpet access to Consumers and DTE programs that will improve their energy efficiency and potentially save them money on their energy bills,” said SBAM President and CEO Rob Fowler. “Small business owners are constantly juggling a multitude of responsibilities. We’re Michigan’s only business organization with full-time, dedicated employees devoted to helping entrepreneurs manage energy needs, as this program provides members with an easy pathway to power their business.”

Three highly-trained energy specialists will be dedicated to helping small business owners address their individual energy needs, including energy efficiency savings opportunities, renewable energy opportunities, rate information and options, bill information and financing, and value added energy products.

“We are pleased to offer a great program to our small business customers designed to take the guesswork out of saving money on their utility bills,” said Garrick Rochow, Senior Vice President of Distribution and Customer Operations. “This furthers our Consumers Energy vision to provide world class performance delivering hometown service.”

The SBAM Energy Solutions program features the opportunity for small business owners to have a holistic approach to business energy usage, making it a true one-stop for busy small business owners.

“Small business owners are always looking for ways to deliver more value to their customers and increase their bottom line – in the most efficient way possible,” said Jerry Norcia, DTE Energy president and COO. “Our energy solutions partnership with SBAM and Consumers Energy gives us a unique opportunity to play an important role in their success today and into the future, allowing these skilled entrepreneurs to focus on what’s really important: continuing to grow Michigan’s economy.”
