SBAM’s Small Biz PAC Announces Endorsements for Attorney General, Michigan Supreme Court

September 14, 2026

Lansing, MI – The Small Business Association of Michigan’s Small Biz PAC today announced endorsements for Attorney General and Michigan’s Supreme Court for November’s general election.

For the Office of Attorney General, the Small Biz PAC endorsed Doug Lloyd (R), currently serving as the Eaton County Prosecutor. For the Michigan Supreme Court, it will support currently seated Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh, and Judge Michael Warren, who serves on Oakland County’s Sixth Judicial Circuit Court.

“This November is a critical election, and small business owners are supporting candidates who have demonstrated serious credentials and will apply that experience to some of our state’s highest leadership positions,” said SBAM President and CEO Brian Calley. “Doug Lloyd, Megan Cavanagh and Michael Warren have reputations of leading with discernment, and have gained the respect of their colleagues, which has earned them the support of the Small Biz PAC.”

Eaton County Prosecutor Doug Lloyd

Doug Lloyd was appointed Eaton County Prosecuting Attorney in 2013, where he oversees a caseload of roughly 6,000 cases per year. Lloyd has built a nationally-recognized Economic Crimes Unit, and expanded access to innovative specialty courts that pair rehabilitation with accountability. He previously served on the State Drug Treatment Court Advisory Committee, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Prosecuting Attorneys Association.

Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh

Megan K. Cavanagh has served as Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court since early 2025, having served as a Justice on the Court since January 2019. She oversees the administration of Michigan’s judicial branch, focusing on a modernized system that is understandable, fair and responsive to the needs of Michigan residents. Justice Cavanagh previously served in leadership roles with the State Bar of Michigan and Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission.

Judge Michael Warren

Michael Warren has served on the Oakland County Circuit Court since 2002, having presided over more than 400 jury trials. He has taught Business Law at Wayne State University, and co-founded a nonprofit initiative focused on civic education, as well as published books on civic literacy.

This is the fourth round of endorsements for the 2026 election. The Small Biz PAC will continue to evaluate and endorse candidates through the general election cycle.

The Small Biz PAC is the political action committee of the Small Business Association of Michigan, which endorses candidates who have demonstrated they understand the critical contributions of Michigan’s small business community, regardless of political party.
