New round of general election endorsements includes eight House, six Senate candidates
Lansing, MI – The Small Business Association of Michigan’s Small Biz PAC today announced its third round of candidate endorsements for the Michigan Senate and House of Representatives in the 2026 election.
“This November, small business owners across the state are looking for candidates who understand what it takes to start, grow and sustain a small business, and who will endeavor to make policy decisions with them in mind,” said SBAM President and CEO Brian Calley. “This round of endorsements reflects the intent of sending leaders to Lansing who will truly work to understand the day-to-day challenges of operating, employing and expanding in communities throughout Michigan.”
Legislative candidates receiving an endorsement as of September 2026 include:

- District #59: Commissioner Sylvia Grot (R)
- District #71: Rep. Brian BeGole (R)
- District #78: Brandon Strong (R)
- District #84: Khristian Silvis (D)
- District #101: Jaxon Deur (R)
- District #110: Rep. Greg Markkanen (R)
State Senate (6)
- District #12: Sen. Kevin Hertel (D)
- District #25: Andrew Beeler (R)
- District #31: John Wetzel (R)
- District #32: Sheriff Kim Cole (R)
- District #33: Rep. Gina Johnsen (R)
- District #38: Rep. Dave Prestin (R)
This is the third round of endorsements for the 2026 election, with the first made in June, and additional endorsements made in July. The Small Biz PAC will continue to evaluate and endorse candidates throughout the general election cycle, and this month will also release a voter guide for small business advocates.
The Small Biz PAC is the political action committee of the Small Business Association of Michigan, which endorses candidates who have demonstrated support for Michigan’s small business community, regardless of political party.
