LANSING, MI –  The Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) has honored state Rep. Nancy Jenkins-Arno as a 2026 Legislator of the Year, honoring Jenkins-Arno for being a strong voice for small business in Lansing as well as in her district.

“Representative Jenkins-Arno is a true champion for Michigan’s small businesses, understanding the critical resources that entrepreneurs need to grow and succeed,” said SBAM President and CEO Brian Calley. “Her focus, persistence and willingness to listen have greatly benefited Michigan’s small business ecosystem. We are grateful to have a partner like Rep. Jenkins-Arno who consistently goes above and beyond to advocate for Michigan’s small business community holistically across our great state.”

“Small businesses are the backbone of our local communities and our state’s economy, creating jobs, driving innovation and supporting families across Michigan. It has been a privilege to work alongside these job creators and entrepreneurs in the 34th District and throughout our state. They are doing the hard work of strengthening our state and helping us move forward. I remain committed to advancing policies that help small businesses grow, succeed and thrive. By reducing barriers to growth, encouraging investment and supporting our workforce, we can make Michigan the most productive state in the nation. I am grateful to SBAM for this recognition and for their continued advocacy on behalf of Michigan’s small business community.”

Jenkins-Arno represents the 34th District in the Michigan House, which includes the cities of Adrian, Morenci and Tecumseh; the villages of Addison, Blissfield, Cement City, Clayton, Clinton and Onsted as well as townships of Clinton, Tecumseh, Raisin, Palmyra, Riga, Ogden, Franklin, Adrian, Madison, Fairfield, Cambridge, Rome, Dover, Seneca, Woodstock, Rollin, Hudson and Medina, as well as a portion of Blissfield Township. She is a member of the House Appropriations Committee, serving as chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor and Economic Opportunity, as well as serving as vice chair of the School Aid and Department of Education subcommittees.
