Affordable, Sustainable Health Benefit Solutions for Small Businesses

October 4, 2026

Small Business Weekly Podcast – Episode 547 (13:37)

On a recent episode of The Small Business Weekly Podcast, Michael Rogers talks with Ime Ekpenyong, PhD, owner of SGRX Health and a VIP member of the Small Business Association of Michigan, about helping employers navigate health benefits and find more affordable solutions for their employees.

SGRX Health is a Michigan-based healthcare organization that has provided pharmacy benefit management and third-party administration services to private and public sector payers since 2001. On the pharmacy benefit side, the organization works with employer groups to help manage employee prescription benefits.

The conversation highlights the challenges businesses and their employees can face when it comes to prescription costs, particularly for people who are uninsured or underinsured or dealing with high copays and deductibles.

To help address those costs, SGRX Health recently launched SGRX Saves, a prescription savings program designed for both uninsured and underinsured individuals. The program works with major pharmacy chains, including CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and Kroger.

For small business owners, solutions like these can offer another way to consider how prescription costs fit into the broader picture of employee health benefits and affordability.

Listen to The Small Business Weekly Podcast Episode 547 to hear the full conversation with Ime Ekpenyong and learn more about SGRX Health, prescription benefit management and options aimed at making prescription costs more affordable.
