Toxic workplaces

Question: I left a job that was toxic. What is the best response I can give on an interview when asked about it?

Answer: Applicants should never talk negatively about previous employer.  Use “true” reasons why you are leaving…for example: “I am looking for an opportunity more in-line with my career goals” or “I’m looking for a company that does XYZ, and I want to be a part of it.”  Keep emotion out of the interview.  Just give a quick soundbite about why you left that job and keep the focus on yourself and why you’re right for the position you are interviewing for.
