A message to our supporting insurance Agents from our Senior Vice President, Scott Lyon

We recognize that these are challenging times filled with a high degree of uncertainty for agents and your staff. Like you, SBAM has adjusted to the coronavirus, as well as the requirements of the American Rescue Plan Act regarding COBRA notices and subsidies. We will continue to adjust as time moves forward and we know that staying connected with you and your staff is more important than ever. You have just received word that the longstanding relationship between BCBSM and their Managing Agents is changing.

This change will result in uncharted territories for your agency while you maintain the high level of customer service and support we all strive for. Let SBAM and TGG Solutions help you with that for currently sponsored and future sponsored groups. Considering this, I wanted to reach out to let you know that the support services of the SBAM billing, enrollment, COBRA, Section 125, HRA and HSA administration are not impacted by the change in the relationship between BCBSM and the two Managing Agents. We will continue our consolidated billing relationship with TGG Solutions that results in BCBSM and BCN suffixes on one invoice, along with any other products your customers take advantage of including: Dearborn group life and disability, COBRA administration, Section 125, HRAs and HSAs. The key point is that all required enrollments still flow through TGG Solutions when your customer is sponsored by SBAM, with no change and no additional charge. When your customers are sponsored by SBAM, you can rely on SBAM and TGG Solutions for:

  • Consolidated billing and enrollment services including invoicing, new enrollment and terminations, and status changes for BCBSM, BCN and Dearborn,
  • Get a sponsorship change started,
  • Request a new identification card, summary of benefits and coverage or benefits-at-a-glance,
  • Get a new or renewed Summary Plan Description at no cost,
  • COBRA, Section 125, HRA and HSA administration,

Call us for customer service assistance on any and all of the above. With this change, we do not foresee any drop off in the service you have known to expect from SBAM and TGG Solutions. Our team members will be available to you during the same hours and communication channels.
