Small Biz PAC Endorses House Special Election Candidates

LANSING, MI – The Small Business Association of Michigan’s Small Biz PAC today announced the endorsement of Sylvia Grot and Steven Gilbert, candidates for the 36th and 74th House districts, respectively.

“Small businesses are critical to the health and prosperity of our economy,” said SBAM President & CEO Brian Calley. “We need strong leaders that understand and support small business and that’s why we have endorsed Sylvia Grot and Steven Gilbert’s candidacy for the Michigan House of Representatives.”

In the 36th House seat, the Small Biz PAC has endorsed Sylia Grot, who currently serves as the Michigan Republican Party’s 10th congressional district caucus chair. The 36th House seat includes parts of Shelby Township, Washington Township, Bruce Township and Romeo.

In the 74th House seat, the Small Biz PAC endorsed Steven Gilbert, who currently serves as Mayor Pro Tem of Walker and as a Walker City Commissioner. Gilbert also previously served as a legislative aide for Senator Roger Victory. The 74th House District includes Algoma Township, Alpine Township, Cedar Springs, Grandville, Rockford, Solon Twp, Sparta Township, Tyrone Township and Walker.

The Small Biz PAC is the political action committee of the Small Business Association of Michigan, which endorses candidates who have demonstrated support for Michigan’s small business community, regardless of political party.
